A core step in the OT Process is to conduct client assessments. Assessment tools can be used as first step in our process, but also during intervention. The OT assessment process is complex and intensive. We conduct assessments for a variety of purposes: to establish baseline performance, to report progress, to support funding applications and to educate/ inform parents, careers and other professionals in the client's life.

In this PD, we cover the common assessments used for children and young people and the application of best practice standards for ethical and high quality assessments. Doing assessments in a rigorous manner is essential as part of our professional responsibility. You will gain information on 52+ assessment tool details, including access to 22 free online, downloadable, credible tools. We have done all the background information gathering for you! We also consider the neuro-affirmative paradigm and the complex context of service provision.

You will gain:

  • exposure to a variety of assessments

  • reflection opportunity to consider your own current practice

  • F2F: assessment kits available to look at

Join us in calibrating your own practice and to stay on-top of high quality, ethical practice in conducting assessments from the start of your service and throughout.
